ACT-SO stands for Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics.
The NAACP’s ACT-SO program is a yearlong initiative that empowers African-American high school students to excel in academics, culture, innovation, and leadership.
Through mentorship, competition, and recognition, ACT-SO helps students develop their talents, strengthen their confidence, and prepare to lead in every arena of life.

What Is ACT-SO?
ACT-SO is a nationally recognized enrichment and achievement program that supports African-American high school students through competition, mentorship, and development.
Students can compete in 32 categories spanning STEM, humanities, business, visual arts, performing arts, and culinary arts, creating meaningful opportunities to grow, showcase their talents, and be recognized for excellence.
Since its founding, nearly 300,000 students have participated nationwide.
